PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Snider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Cwiek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ted Snider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomasz Cwiek!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snider throws a body punch but Cwiek moves out of range.

Cwiek closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Snider taking a breather.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Snider.

Snider is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cwiek is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Snider to the mat. Snider regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Snider wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cwiek manages to pass to side control.
Cwiek thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Snider is trying to stand up here but Cwiek is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cwiek escapes and gets back to his feet.
Cwiek tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cwiek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snider tries to avoid it but Cwiek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snider to the ground. Snider escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cwiek darts in looking for a takedown but Snider gets double underhooks and turns Cwiek into the cage.

Snider gets caught flat footed, as Cwiek shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Cwiek sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Snider's guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cwiek lands a nice short elbow.
Cwiek prevents Snider from standing back up.

Cwiek looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Snider could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Snider wants to get back to his feet.

Snider tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cwiek manages to move to mount!

Cwiek lands a couple of good shots and Snider has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

A lull in the action here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

You can see the frustration on Snider's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Cwiek thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Cwiek trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Snider doesn't escape.
Snider is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Cwiek punches the canvas rather than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snider is trying to get back to his feet but Cwiek has full control of the position and if anything, Snider has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Cwiek is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Snider is defending well though. Cwiek let's go of the attempt for now.
Cwiek is landing with strikes. Snider can't take much more of this.
Cwiek controlling well, preventing Snider from escaping the position.

Snider is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Cwiek is punishing Snider with some ground and pound.

Snider might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Snider is trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomasz Cwiek dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cwiek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Snider but Snider pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Snider throws a quick counter head kick but Cwiek was just out of range.
Cwiek darts in looking for a takedown but Snider gets double underhooks and turns Cwiek into the cage.
Snider is looking for a counter combo.
Cwiek is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cwiek has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cwiek shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Snider makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ted Snider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Cwiek.

Cwiek ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snider moves away.
Cwiek shoots in and drives through. Snider sprawls well.
It looked like Snider was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cwiek.

Cwiek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cwiek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Snider does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tomasz Cwiek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cwiek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snider swivels and escapes.

Cwiek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Snider, pushing him back against the cage.
Snider stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Cwiek tries to pull guard but Snider won't allow it.
The referee calls for Snider to work.
Snider controlling the action here for a moment.
Snider seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Cwiek breaks from the clinch.
Cwiek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snider tries to avoid it but Cwiek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snider to the ground. Snider escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Snider tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cwiek was well out of range. Poor timing from Snider.
Cwiek shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Snider as he avoids it easily.
Snider keeps the fight on the outside.

Cwiek closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Snider tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Snider has picked Cwiek up - he's going for a ride! Snider dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Snider is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cwiek regains full guard. Nicely done.

Cwiek has his foot on Snider's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Snider works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Snider thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cwiek controls Snider momentarily but Snider frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ted Snider will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Cwiek closes the distance and clinches up with Snider, looking for a takedown. Cwiek pushes Snider against the cage but Snider circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cwiek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snider's waist but Snider gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cwiek off to one side.
Snider is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Cwiek closes the distance and clinches up with Snider, looking for a takedown. Cwiek pushes Snider against the cage but Snider circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cwiek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

It looked like Snider was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Snider connects with a solid leg kick.
Cwiek looks for a takedown but Snider sprawls well.
Cwiek is looking to clinch.
Snider swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Snider gets a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Snider throws an elbow but misses.

Cwiek tries to land knees in the clinch but Snider avoids the damage to the body.
Cwiek tries to pull guard but Snider won't allow it.
Snider is trying to pull guard but Cwiek has him pressed against the cage.
Snider is trying to stall.
A nice left hand lands by Snider.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Snider lands an elbow that stopped Cwiek in his tracks for a moment.

Cwiek changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Snider fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Cwiek shoots in and bounces Snider off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Snider wants to stand but Cwiek is controlling the position.
Cwiek loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snider working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cwiek.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cwiek advances to half guard.

Cwiek is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Snider is just riding it out for now. Cwiek eventually gives up the hold.

Snider manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Cwiek fails to land the takedown.
As Cwiek looks to move away, Snider throws a big counter combo bu Cwiek just gets out of the way.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cwiek tries to score a power double leg takedown but Snider sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cwiek somewhat.
It looked like Snider was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cwiek.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ted Snider showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Snider has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
