Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pete Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewie Griifin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doherty comes to the cage accompanied by You can't stand me now. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Stewie Griifin enters the cage!

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stewie Griifin! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doherty throws a body punch but Griifin moves out of range. Pete Doherty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Doherty.
A jab from Griifin misses. Doherty closes this distance looking for a takedown but Griifin circles away. Griifin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Doherty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Griifin is fending him off so far but Doherty persists. Nope, Griifin circles away and we're back to standing. Doherty swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Griifin counters with a straight right hand. Doherty avoids the body shot from Griifin.

Griifin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Griifin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Doherty is now in Griifin's guard. Griifin is trying to reverse the position but instead Doherty has taken his back - oops! Griifin breaks Doherty's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Griifin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Doherty manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Griifin has Doherty in his guard. Griifin keeping moving, preventing Doherty from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Griifin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Doherty drops back looking for a leg! Griifin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Griifin manages to kick Doherty off! Doherty jumps back into Griifin's guard. Griifin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Griifin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Doherty sees it coming and avoids it easily. Griifin throws a right and a left that Doherty avoids nicely. Doherty shoots and misses and Griifin counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Doherty. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doherty throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Griifin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Doherty loads up on a big right hand but Griifin slips the punch. Doherty throws a lazy right hand but Griifin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Griifin's corner calls for a 1-2. Griifin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Doherty throws the left hand but Griifin avoids the punch easily. Doherty ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Griifin moves away. Griifin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Doherty misses with a takedown attempt and Griifin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Doherty. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griifin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doherty throws out the jab. Griifin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Griifin tries to move to full mount but Doherty actually manages to regain half guard. Griifin wants to pass the guard but Doherty is defending well.

Doherty is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Doherty blocks the strikes from Griifin.
Griifin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Well, if Doherty is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Doherty throws a nice looking combination but Griifin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Doherty throws a right and a left that both miss. Griifin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Griifin stuns Doherty with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Griifin scores with a three punch combo!
