Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Sheppards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scooby Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Sheppards could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scooby Ali's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Sheppards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scooby Ali! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sheppards looks to land a combination. Ali sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Scooby Ali has been cut. Sheppards throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sheppards throws a hook but Ali avoids it easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Sheppards. Ali does a little dance to reset his feet. Ali shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sheppards shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sheppards showed some decent athleticism there. Sheppards is thwarting Ali's attempts to control the position. Sheppards wants to pass the guard but Ali is defending well. Sheppards wants to control but Ali is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ali trying to control from the bottom.
Sheppards is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ali can do anything to dispel that myth. Sheppards is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ali defends it well. Sheppards is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ali! Sheppards is trying to take his opponent's back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sheppards can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ali is looking to escape. Sheppards is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ali to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ali shrugs it off. Sheppards controlling from mount. Sheppards has hold of Ali's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ali manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This has been an exciting period of action! Sheppards moves to the back position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheppards lands punches and elbows. Ali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheppards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Will Sheppards go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Sheppards is cranking Ali's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Ali! He's tightened the choke and Ali is tapping out!
