Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pakpahan throws a hook but Aroni blocks it.
Pakpahan slips a jab from Aroni.
Pakpahan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

A telegraphed right hand from Pakpahan misses the target.
Aroni throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Pakpahan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Pakpahan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pakpahan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pakpahan drops back looking for a leg! Aroni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aroni manages to kick Pakpahan off! Pakpahan jumps back into Aroni's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pakpahan postures up in Aroni's guard and throws a big left but Aroni blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pakpahan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rice Aroni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aroni paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Pakpahan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Aroni manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pakpahan is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Rice Aroni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pakpahan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Aroni uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pakpahan.
Aroni throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pakpahan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pakpahan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Aroni lands with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pakpahan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pakpahan there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Aroni counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Aroni connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pakpahan throws a shot from downtown. Aroni moves away and avoids it.
Pakpahan darts in looking for a takedown but Aroni gets double underhooks and turns Pakpahan into the cage.
Pakpahan moves into range and clinches up with Aroni.
Aroni lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Aroni.
Aroni lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Rice Aroni dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters circling - Aroni throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Aroni connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Aroni dips to his left and cracks Pakpahan with an uppercut!
Pakpahan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pakpahan gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Pakpahan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aroni circles away quickly and effectively.
Pakpahan walks into a left hand.
Pakpahan shoots in looking for a takedown. Aroni tries to sprawl out of it but Pakpahan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aroni manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pakpahan throws a right hand that misses
and Aroni makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Aroni throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pakpahan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Aroni jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Aroni has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Aroni's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pakpahan under the eye.

Pakpahan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aroni but Aroni pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Aroni connects with a right hand. Pakpahan shakes it off.

Pakpahan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aroni looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pakpahan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pakpahan has hold of Aroni's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Aroni tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pakpahan cranks the arm and Aroni screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Aroni, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bunaidi Pakpahan!
A relieved looking Bunaidi Pakpahan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
