Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Enrique Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anderson Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Aldo.
Aldo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jimenez is fending him off so far but Aldo persists. Nope, Jimenez circles away and we're back to standing.
Aldo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Aldo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Enrique Jimenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Aldo.

Aldo forces Jimenez back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aldo tries a body shot but Jimenez blocks it.
Aldo misses with a punch on the inside.
Aldo tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Jimenez manages to break the clinch.
Aldo shoots in for a takedown but Jimenez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Aldo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jimenez defends well and Aldo ends up having to push Jimenez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jimenez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jimenez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jimenez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Jimenez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Aldo is trying to control but can't.

Aldo is defending against the submission attempts here by Jimenez.

Aldo is defending against the submission attempts here by Jimenez.

Jimenez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aldo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jimenez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jimenez is trying to work for a kimura but Aldo is defending well.

Aldo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Jimenez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aldo can do to turn this around?
Aldo shoots in but Jimenez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aldo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jimenez shoots in and bounces Aldo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Aldo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Aldo is striking from the bottom but Jimenez uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Jimenez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Jimenez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jimenez is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Aldo still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Aldo has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Jimenez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Aldo is controlling him well.

The ground and pound from Aldo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jimenez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Aldo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Aldo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jimenez keeps working.
Aldo is breathing heavily.
Jimenez wants to get back to his feet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Aldo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jimenez defends it nicely.
Jimenez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Aldo manages to circle out of the way.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jimenez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Aldo is looking to stand up but Jimenez isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jimenez is working Aldo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jimenez gets to his feet - Aldo follows without any prompting.
Enrique Jimenez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Aldo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Aldo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jimenez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Jimenez gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Jimenez looking for a submission but Aldo manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Aldo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jimenez is controlling him.

Aldo controls Jimenez momentarily but Jimenez frees himself.

Jimenez connects with a couple of short punches.
Jimenez distracts Aldo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Enrique Jimenez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jimenez wants to stand but Aldo is controlling his posture from full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jimenez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Aldo throws a head kick that misses.

Jimenez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Aldo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jimenez is controlling him well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jimenez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
