Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Noe Sims! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Frater! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frater shoots for a takedown but Sims saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Frater with a poor takedown and Sims counters with a left to the body. Frater misses with the combination.
Sims throwing a counter right hand but Frater manages to avoid it. Frater is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sims tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Frater wants to counter the offense by Sims and move into the clinch position. Sims fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Frater looks like he wants to counter punch here. Sims doesn't succeed with the takedown and Frater counters with a nice uppercut. Sims fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Frater sprawls well initially but Sims persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Frater tries to kick Sims off but Sims keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Sims tries to stand and escape but Frater is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sims decides to stand and escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sims tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frater swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noe Sims. That's going to take a lot out of him. A head kick misses from Frater. Sims shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Frater defends it nicely. Frater tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sims defends well and Frater ends up having to push Sims into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Frater is looking to land body kicks. Frater closes the distance and clinches. Frater wants the takedown. Sims is fighting it off but Frater persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sims's guard against the cage. Frater advances to half guard. Frater looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sims looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Frater in particular looking to stall. Sims wants to get back to his feet.

Sims closes the distance and clinches up with Frater, looking for a takedown. Sims pushes Frater against the cage but Frater circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Frater is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Frater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sims is trying to stand up here but Frater is controlling him well. Sims is breathing heavily. Well, if Frater is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Frater controlling the action here. Frater postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sims to stand up. Frater moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Noe Sims has been cut. Sims fails with the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frater looks to land a combination but Sims avoids it well. Sims is looking to counter punch. Sims displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Frater. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Frater dominated that round. The cut man is working on Noe Sims's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Frater moves into the clinch. Sims tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Frater just stands there and leans against the cage. Frater misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sims stalling in the clinch but Frater improves position. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Frater pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sims trying to control the position from guard on top but Frater is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alex Frater has got the better of the ground game so far. Frater is looking to sweep but instead, Sims has passed into half guard.
Sims stops Frater from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sims wants to stand up but Frater has a hold of him and won't allow it. Frater has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sims is working away from the top position though. Frater gets back to full guard.
Frater controls Sims momentarily but Sims frees himself. Frater is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Frater pulls Sims in close to his closed guard and prevents Sims from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sims leaves Frater with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Frater shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sims counters with a left to the body. Sims shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Frater napping and manages to drive through into side control! Frater is not content to let Sims control the position. Frater is being controlled here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sims tries to stand but Frater is controlling his head. Frater tries to bench press Sims off him but Sims keeps the position. Frater manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Frater works his way into side control. Frater has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Frater has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Frater dives in for a single leg takedown but Sims sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Noe Sims has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Frater. Frater moves into the clinch.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Frater. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Frater's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Frater just misses with a punch to the body.
Frater closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Frater stands up and beckons Sims to join him on the feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frater has Sims up against the cage in a clinch.
Frater pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frater shoots in and drives through. Sims sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sims knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Frater on the ground. Frater gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Frater closes the distance and clinches. Sims is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Frater is keeping busy. Frater breaks the clinch.

Frater no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Frater has his foot on Sims's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sims works his way back into a safe position though. Frater has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sims off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Frater escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sims gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sims might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sims wanted to stand there but Frater had control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frater managing to control the position. Sims wants to control from the top but Frater keeps moving. Noe Sims has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alex Frater is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sims throwing strikes from guard but Frater blocks nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Frater comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Frater has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
