Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Jaa! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa takes the fight into the clinch. Jaa tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Balboa's elbow. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jaa just misses with a elbow thrown towards Balboa's brow. Balboa has had enough of the clinch but Jaa keeps him there for the moment. Balboa has had enough of the clinch but Jaa keeps him there for the moment. Jaa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Balboa shoots in for a double leg but Jaa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jaa throws out a counter right but Balboa avoids it with no problem. Balboa throws a series of punches but Jaa moves out of range. Jaa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Balboa falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jaa counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jaa doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jaa can't find room to land a body shot as Balboa controls the action.
Jaa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Balboa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jaa counters with a slapping leg kick. Balboa lands with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa cracks Jaa with a right hand to the side of the head. Balboa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jaa has time to react. Balboa moves out of range of the body kick. Balboa slips under a jab from Jaa. It looked like Balboa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jaa. Balboa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jaa thuds his shin into the meat of Balboa's side. Balboa is breathing heavily. Nice uppercut there from Jaa. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jaa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Jaa swinging wildly here.
Jaa darts in and clinches Balboa up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jaa lands a body shot. Balboa blocks a body shot from Jaa. Jaa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A combination from Balboa does no damage. Jaa wants to counter with a clinch but Balboa pushes him away. Balboa takes one to the side of the head.
Balboa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jaa circles away quickly and effectively. Balboa has managed to clinch.
Balboa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jaa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jaa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Balboa. Jaa connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Balboa is rocked! Balboa lands the left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Balboa misses with a combination
and Jaa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Oh Balboa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Balboa darts in and clinches Jaa up against the cage. Jaa works on Balboa's body with a couple of short punches. A short right hand to the side of the head by Jaa. Jaa throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Balboas head. Jaa presses Balboa against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Jaa is leaning against Balboa and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Jaa works on Balboa's body with a couple of short punches. Jaa scores with a shoulder strike. Jaa lands with a light punch inside. Jaa lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jaa throws a big uppercut that drops Balboa! More strikes from Jaa and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Balboa lies dazed against the cage as Jaa celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Jaa! Tony Jaa looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I wanna thank my team at Last Dragon MMA in Hilo! I was just a kid off the street and they saw something in me. We're all getting better over there. Look out for us. '.
