Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samson Wade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drago is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drago. Ivan Drago told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samson Wade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Drago! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wade ducks under a wild hook from Drago. Wade slips a straight right by Drago. It looked like Wade wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Drago missing with a left hand there. Wade was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wade keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Wade counters by moving into the clinch. Drago wants to get back to striking at distance but Wade won't allow it.

Drago is trying to break the clinch but Wade has him pressed against the cage. Drago looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Drago wants to break free but Wade has control.

Wade pushes Drago back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Wade working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Wade decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wade bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Drago's guard. Wade throwing strikes from guard but Drago blocks nicely. Wade throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wade is looking to work some ground and pound but Drago has wrist control. Drago preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Drago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wade trying to control the position from guard on top but Drago is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wade is in close to Drago's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wade is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Wade throws a big right hand that misses. Wade postures up.
Wade postures up in Drago's guard and throws a big left but Drago blocks it. Wade wants to control from the top but Drago keeps moving. Wade throws a big elbow that misses. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Wade has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wade throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ivan Drago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drago takes one on the button.
It looks like Ivan Drago has been cut. Drago throws a right hand that Wade ducks under and follows up with a left that Wade also avoids with ease. Wade displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Drago throws out the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wade swings for the body but Drago moves out of range.

Wade moves out of range of the strikes. Drago throws a hook but Wade blocks it. Wade misses with a head kick.
Wade misses with a wild body shot. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Drago! But no joy. Wade uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Drago. Drago throws a lazy right hand but Wade sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Drago just misses with a punch to the body.
Drago comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Drago looks to land a left hand but Wade moved out of range nicely. Wade seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A big right from Wade misses. Wade uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Wade displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Drago throws out the jab. Drago misses with a looping right. As Drago tries to get set, Wade tries to push him back and clinch up but Drago manages to avoid the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wade takes a jab right on the kisser.
Wade throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Drago stumbling backwards into the cage! Drago bounces back off the cage towards Wade, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Wade lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Wade celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Samson Wade! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Samson Wade made sure he mentioned Fury Nutrition Inc., along with how happy he was to win his fight. Ivan Drago was interviewed post fight and said '"He's not human, he's like a piece of iron."'.
