Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Ciprianni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Sandman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ciprianni avoids it really well and circles away.
Sandman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ciprianni.
Ciprianni scores with a spinning back kick!
Sandman shoots in but Ciprianni avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sandman takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Sandman walks into a straight right hand from Ciprianni.
Sandman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ciprianni defends well and Sandman ends up having to push Ciprianni into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Danny Ciprianni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Sandman.
Sandman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ciprianni misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sandman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sandman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ciprianni dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sandman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ciprianni swivels and escapes.
Sandman takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That kick from Ciprianni tenderised Sandman's leg. Sandman is trying to keep his angry face on.

Sandman feints and as Ciprianni raises his hands in defense, Sandman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ciprianni is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Ciprianni had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sandman defends it easily.

Sandman drops back looking for a leg! Ciprianni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ciprianni manages to kick Sandman off! Sandman jumps back into Ciprianni's guard.

Sandman keeps trying to improve his position.
Sandman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ciprianni looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sandman postures up in Ciprianni's guard and throws a big left but Ciprianni blocks it.
Sandman advances position into side control!

Sandman is trying to get an arm triangle but Ciprianni is defending well.

Sandman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ciprianni rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sandman's guard! Nice work there by Ciprianni!
Ciprianni will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sandman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ciprianni gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sandman looking for a guillotine here but Ciprianni defends easily.

Sandman has his foot on Ciprianni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ciprianni works his way back into a safe position though.
Ciprianni slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ciprianni lands a decent elbow from side control.
Sandman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ciprianni wants to take a breather but Sandman is having none of it.

Ciprianni is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sandman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ciprianni.

Sandman is not content to let Ciprianni control the position.
Sandman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ciprianni.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sandman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ciprianni pulls his head out easily.
Sandman is refusing to be controlled, as Ciprianni sits in half guard.
Sandman won't allow Ciprianni to pass to mount.

Ciprianni moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sandman.
Ciprianni trying to control the action but Sandman is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Ciprianni dominated that round.

Sandman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ciprianni misses with a kick to the body

and Sandman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ciprianni misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Ciprianni is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sandman can do to turn this around?

Sandman is working for a submission of some sort.

Sandman wants to work for an arm triangle but Ciprianni is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
