Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Sutcliffe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaltje Klinjsma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaltje Klinjsma is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaltje Klinjsma!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klinjsma throws a leg kick that is checked
and Sutcliffe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sutcliffe loads up on a big right hand but Klinjsma slips the punch.
Klinjsma with the counter takedown but Sutcliffe avoids it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Sutcliffe. Those never looked like landing.
Sutcliffe thows a left - swing and a miss!
A telegraphed right hand from Sutcliffe misses the target.
Klinjsma feints the counter takedown.
Sutcliffe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sutcliffe lands a glancing blow to the side of Klinjsma's head.
Sutcliffe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sutcliffe tests Klinjsma's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sutcliffe throws a jab but it's blocked by Klinjsma.
Klinjsma tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Sutcliffe connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Aaltje Klinjsma has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sutcliffe lands a head shot.


Klinjsma is rocked!
It looks like Sutcliffe has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Klinjsma looks to land a right hand but Sutcliffe moved out of range.
Sutcliffe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Sutcliffe throws a looping overhand right but Klinjsma ducks down to avoid it.

Peter Sutcliffe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sutcliffe missing with a left hand there. Klinjsma was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sutcliffe is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Sutcliffe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sutcliffe throws out a loose jab but Klinjsma uses good head movement to avoid it.
Klinjsma uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sutcliffe.
Sutcliffe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sutcliffe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Klinjsma tries for a takedown but Sutcliffe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sutcliffe swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Klinjsma fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sutcliffe throwing a counter right hand but Klinjsma manages to avoid it.
Peter Sutcliffe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaltje Klinjsma.
Sutcliffe lands a body shot.
Peter Sutcliffe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sutcliffe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Klinjsma counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sutcliffe won't be happy with that.
Klinjsma prevents Sutcliffe from escaping the position.
Klinjsma is looking to take a break and control but Sutcliffe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
You can see the frustration on Sutcliffe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sutcliffe tries to bench press Klinjsma off him but Klinjsma keeps the position.

Klinjsma wants to control for a moment but Sutcliffe uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Sutcliffe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sutcliffe tries to get out of the position.
Sutcliffe keeping hold of Klinjsma's head, controlling as best he can.
Sutcliffe is trying to stand back up but Klinjsma is controlling him
Klinjsma is trying to control the action in half guard but Sutcliffe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Klinjsma is thwarting Sutcliffe's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Klinjsma has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Klinjsma avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sutcliffe is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Klinjsma uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sutcliffe.
Klinjsma throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Klinjsma steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sutcliffe.
Sutcliffe throws a lazy uppercut

and Klinjsma counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Klinjsma looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sutcliffe is trying to stand up here but Klinjsma is controlling him well.
Sutcliffe is trying to get back to full guard.
Klinjsma throwing shots but Sutcliffe is blocking nicely.
Klinjsma wants to pass the guard but Sutcliffe is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klinjsma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sutcliffe as he jumps to the side.
No joy there for Sutcliffe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Donk. Sutcliffe catches Klinjsma right on the button with a cross.
Sutcliffe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Klinjsma in his tracks.
Klinjsma throws a body punch but Sutcliffe moves out of range.
Sutcliffe lands with an overhand left.
Sutcliffe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klinjsma seems to have recovered his senses.
Klinjsma tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sutcliffe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Klinjsma somewhat.
