Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Duhrover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksey Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duhrover comes into the arena with Doggystyle blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Duhrover! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Aleksey Ivanov! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivanov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Duhrover misses with the combination.
Ivanov misses with a body shot.
Ivanov walks into a left hand. Duhrover takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Duhrover ducks under a wild hook from Ivanov. Duhrover swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Duhrover wants to clinch but Ivanov slips to the side so Ivanov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Duhrover bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ivanov's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Duhrover loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ivanov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duhrover throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ivanov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Duhrover avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duhrover wants to control from the top but Ivanov keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duhrover working some strikes from top position. Duhrover postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Duhrover forces his way into half guard. Ivanov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Duhrover's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Duhrover's back! Ivanov tightening his grip on Duhrover, looking for the choke. Duhrover just looking to survive in the bad position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ivanov looking for the choke but no joy. Ivanov is not going to allow Duhrover to sit and survive in this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ivanov is cranking Duhrover's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Duhrover! He's tightened the choke and Duhrover is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Aleksey Ivanov! Aleksey Ivanov retains his welterweight title! A very excited looking Aleksey Ivanov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
