Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Anzar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anzar has chosen The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Anzar!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anzar tests Graves's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Anzar throws a combination. Graves tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Anzar tries to bum rush Graves with a series of wild strikes but Graves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Anzar throws a head kick that misses.
Graves on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Anzar misses the shot to the body.
Anzar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Graves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Graves there as he acknowledges the shot.
Anzar is looking to chop away at Graves's legs.
Anzar misses with a wild combination.
Anzar scores with a three punch combo!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anzar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Graves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anzar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Graves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Graves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Graves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Anzar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Graves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Graves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Anzar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Graves is controlling him.
Anzar has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Javi´ Corner. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Graves postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anzar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Graves, into his guard.


Anzar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Graves throws his legs up looking for a submission but Anzar uses it to pass to side control.
Anzar is looking to take a break and control but Graves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Graves gets back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anzar is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Anzar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Graves's head.

Anzar stands up and beckons Graves to join him on the feet.
George Anzar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Anzar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anzar wants it to stay on the feet.
Anzar throws an off balance right hand

and Graves counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Graves won't allow Anzar to get back to his feet.
Anzar managing to control the position.
Anzar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Graves advances to half guard.
Anzar is looking to escape.

Anzar is defending against the submission attempts here by Graves.

Graves is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Graves is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Graves will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A head kick misses from Anzar.
Anzar connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Anzar connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Anzar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anzar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Anzar throws a left and a right that both miss

and Graves decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anzar's guard.

Graves drops back, looking for a kneebar! Anzar looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Anzar looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Anzar!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Graves manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Graves is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anzar pulls his head out easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are battling for position here. Graves manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Graves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anzar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Graves is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Anzar defends well.
Anzar wants to stand but Graves has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Graves is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Anzar is aware though and is defending well.
Anzar with a flurry of punches that miss.

Graves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anzar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Graves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Anzar is sitting in close to Graves's body. Graves has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Anzar is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Anzar is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Graves.
