9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Coleman! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasilyev slips under a jab from Coleman. Vasilyev tries to counter with a takedown but Coleman is quick to defend against it. Vasilyev shoots and misses and Coleman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Vasilyev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Coleman smiles and moves away.
Vasilyev loads up on a big right hand but Coleman slips the punch. Vasilyev has been working on his balance at The GYM (20 elite coaches on the Island !!!), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Coleman. Coleman tries to clinch there but Vasilyev circles away.
Coleman throws a hook to the side of Vasilyev's head but Vasilyev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Coleman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sergey Vasilyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vasilyev pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Coleman gets in close and instigates a clinch. Vasilyev takes an elbow to the temple. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Sergey Vasilyev has been cut. Coleman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Coleman lands an elbow that stopped Vasilyev in his tracks for a moment. Coleman will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Vasilyev up against the cage. Coleman lands an elbow inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman working Vasilyev over with knees to the body. Vasilyev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Vasilyev looks to throw the jab but Coleman is out of range. Coleman ducks under a wild hook from Vasilyev. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Coleman! But no joy. Coleman closes the distance and clinches. Vasilyev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Coleman after a bit of a struggle. Vasilyev is trying to drag Coleman to the mat but Coleman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Coleman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Coleman lands a damaging elbow. Coleman lands an elbow inside.

Vasilyev has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Coleman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Coleman lands an elbow that stopped Vasilyev in his tracks for a moment.

Coleman lands a good knee to the midsection. Vasilyev won't want to take too many of those. Coleman lands an elbow just above Vasilyev 's eye.
Jeez, Sergey Vasilyev's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Coleman lands a damaging elbow.
