The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wong walks into a straight right hand from De La Vega. Wong clinches. De La Vega takes a knee to the side of the body. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Wong stalling the fight.
The crowd are getting on Wong's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. De La Vega has had enough of the clinch but Wong keeps him there for the moment. Wong leaning his opponent against the cage. Wong stalling in the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Sum Ting Wong. De La Vega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wong wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and De La Vega manages to pass to side control. Wong looks like he's trying to stand up.

De La Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. De La Vega unloading with bombs! De La Vega with a couple of short strikes. De La Vega tries to control but Wong wriggling away. De La Vega fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wong can do anything to dispel that myth. De La Vega won't let Wong get back to his feet...
