Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Short Fuse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Better Dead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dead has chosen Better off Dead as his entrance music. Better Dead will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Short Fuse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Better Dead!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Dead, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fuse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dead but Dead pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dead misses with an uppercut.
A clash of legs there as Fuse blocks the low kick.
Fuse walks into a jab.
Fuse defending well as Dead loads up on a big left hand.
Dead throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Fuse counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Dead throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dead fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fuse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dead avoids it really well and circles away.
Dead misses with a shot to the body
and Fuse counters with a nice kick to the body.
Fuse shoots in for a takedown but Dead shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Short Fuse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dead displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fuse.
Dead scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dead feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fuses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dead's waist but Dead gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fuse off to one side.
Dead appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
A lazy left from Dead finds it's target.
Dead cracks Fuse with a right hand to the side of the head.
Fuse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dead avoids it really well and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fuse is defended easily by Dead.
Fuse misses with a takedown attempt - Dead sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dead connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dead catches Fuse with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Fuse forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Better Dead!
Better Dead decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
