Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noz Gurreff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirt McGirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGirt has chosen Shimmy Shimmy Ya as his entrance music. Dirt McGirt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noz Gurreff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dirt McGirt!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Gurreff. That snapped McGirt's head back.
McGirt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gurreff counters with a straight right hand.
McGirt throws a hook but Gurreff blocks it.
Nice straight punches there by Gurreff. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gurreff.
Gurreff tests McGirt's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gurreff has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bruize Brothers in the buildup to the fight.
McGirt scores with a punch to the head.
Gurreff is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gurreff looks to land a right hand but McGirt moved out of range.
McGirt looking to score a takedown here. Gurreff is defending well but McGirt drives through and ends up in Gurreff's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McGirt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gurreff's head.

Gurreff tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGirt distracts Gurreff with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Gurreff trying to keep a closed guard but McGirt is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gurreff looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGirt is one step ahead there.
McGirt told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Gurreff has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
McGirt is working Gurreff over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gurreff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

McGirt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gurreff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
McGirt drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. McGirt seems to have locked his on tight now - Gurreff screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for McGirt, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Dirt McGirt!
