Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jung Hoi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Musse Hasselvall! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoi misses with a hook. Hasselvall ducked under it nicely. Hoi throws a right and a left that both miss. Hoi fails to land with a series of punches.
Hasselvall takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hasselvall misses with a takedown attempt - Hoi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hasselvall shoots in and drives through. Hoi sprawls well. Hoi moves in looking to clinch but Hasselvall pushes him off. Hasselvall feints and as Hoi raises his hands in defense, Hasselvall changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hasselvall wants to control from the top but Hoi keeps moving. Hoi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hasselvall trying to control but Hoi is working from the bottom. Hasselvall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hoi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hasselvall stacks Hoi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hasselvall! Hoi is looking for a sweep.

Hoi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hasselvall wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hasselvall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoi keeps working. You can see the frustration on Hoi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hasselvall tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hoi's legs. Hasselvall moves into full mount!

Hasselvall throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hoi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hoi is breathing heavily. Hasselvall is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hoi is surviving well by controlling Hasselvall's body position as best he can. Hoi is desperately trying to improve his position but Hasselvall has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hoi is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hasselvall in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hasselvall avoids the attempt from Hoi to control. Hasselvall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hasselvall wants to control the pace but Hoi is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoi is looking to improve his position but Hasselvall isn't that keen on the idea. A nice elbow there by Hasselvall. Hasselvall decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hoi tries to roll over but Hasselvall keeps him under control. Hasselvall is pressing down on Hoi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hoi is holding on for now. Hoi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hoi tries to roll over but Hasselvall keeps him under control. Musse Hasselvall has got the better of the ground game so far. Hasselvall not doing much here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hoi is not content to let Hasselvall control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hoi stuffs the takedown attempt from Hasselvall. Hasselvall gets slowly back to his feet. Hoi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hasselvall! Hasselvall is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hasselvall is in a horrible position here. Hoi smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hoi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hasselvall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hoi's guard now. Jung Hoi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Musse Hasselvall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hasselvall looking to control and managing it successfully.
