Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chip Ripper looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Barron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Ripper!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ripper tries to sprawl but Barron drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Barron is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Ripper wants to control but Barron is keeping busy.
Barron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barron performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Barron prevents Ripper from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barron throwing shots but Ripper is blocking nicely.
Barron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Barron thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ripper's head.

Ripper makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Barron trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Ripper looking to sit in guard and control but Barron gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Barron scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Ripper has Barron up against the cage in a clinch.
Ripper wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Barron manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Barron is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Ripper blocks an elbow strike.
Barron misses with a knee to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ripper lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ripper lands with a right to the head.
Barron wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chip Ripper will probably get the nod.

Barron closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ripper to the mat! Ripper manages to get full guard.

Ripper throws his legs up looking for a submission but Barron uses it to pass to side control.

Barron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Barron cracks Ripper with a big elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ripper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Barron is looking for a sweep. Ripper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Barron kicks off Ripper and gets to his feet.
Chip Ripper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ripper pushes Barron up against the cage in a clinch.

Ripper gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Ripper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ripper is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Barron wants to stand but Ripper is controlling the position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Barron manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Ripper lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Barron just leaning against Ripper, taking a breather.
Barron is trying to break free.
Ripper avoids a wild elbow strike from Barron.
Barron tries to break the clinch but Ripper is controlling the position.

Ripper decides to pull guard.

Barron sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ripper's guard.
Ripper is trying to get back to full guard.
Barron winds up and cracks Ripper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ripper is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Barron scores with a couple of nice shots.
Barron wants to free his trapped foot but Ripper is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Barron passes into side control, despite Ripper's attempt to control the position.
Barron cracks Ripper with a big right hand but Ripper just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Check out the look on Barron's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Barron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ripper can do to turn this around?

Barron lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ripper wants to stand up but Barron is controlling him.

Barron drops back looking for a leg! Ripper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ripper manages to kick Barron off! Barron jumps back into Ripper's guard.
Barron postures up and lands a big shot to Ripper's brow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ripper looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Barron puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ripper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Barron seems to be looking for submissions.
Barron thows a huge punch but Ripper dodges it nicely.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ripper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ripper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barron gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Barron wriggles free and stands up.
A combination from Ripper does no damage.
A little feinted left hand from Barron on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ripper lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ripper misses with a wild combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barron shoots in for a takedown but Ripper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cody Barron showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Barron has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
