Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mark Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Bernill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bernill has chosen Magic System - Magic In The Air as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Sykes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Sami Bernill!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernill looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bernill has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sykes is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Sykes lands with a shot to the body.
Bernill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bernill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A little jabbing left from Bernill on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sykes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Sykes lands a glancing blow to the side of Bernill's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sykes lands a front kick to the face, that drops Bernill to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
It looks like Sami Bernill has been cut.
Sykes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Bernill drops his hands momentarily and Sykes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sykes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bernill under the eye.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sykes.
Sykes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bernill eats them both and turns towards Sykes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bernill is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Sykes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bernill has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Oh Sykes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bernill shapes to counter with a head kick.
Sykes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bernill closes the distance and catches Sykes with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Sykes is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Sykes is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Sykes is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Bernill takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Sami Bernill!
After winning the bout, Sami Bernill thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
