Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marius Budawalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kunle Jones!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones forces Budawalski back against the cage and clinches.

Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Budawalski's elbow.
Jones tries to throw a body punch but Budawalski avoids it by throwing Jones back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones tries to work over Budawalski's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Budawalski gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Budawalski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Budawalski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Marius Budawalski will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Budawalski lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.
Budawalski shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As Jones looks to move away, Budawalski throws a big counter combo bu Jones just gets out of the way.

That has opened up Kunle Jones's cut even more.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Budawalski has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Jones tries to lock up and control but Budawalski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Budawalski is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.

Budawalski jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jones and Budawalski has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Budawalski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Budawalski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Budawalski keeps moving and retains side control.

The cut above Kunle Jones's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Budawalski misses the jab.
Jones swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Donk. Budawalski catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
Jones tries to clinch but Budawalski moves out of range.
Jones takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Kunle Jones's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Jones looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jones fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Budawalski has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kunle Jones seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Budawalski prevents a body shot from Jones.
Budawalski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Budawalski bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Jones! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Budawalski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
