Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Riley!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Riley gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Johnson.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Riley sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
An inside leg kick lands from Johnson.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Riley throws a body shot but no joy.
Riley tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Riley sprawls and moves away.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Riley sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Riley throws a nice outside leg kick.
That kick from Johnson tenderised Riley's leg. Riley is trying to keep his angry face on.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Johnson looks to land a left hand but Riley moved out of range nicely.
Johnson throws a body punch but Riley moves out of range.
Riley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Riley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Riley.
Riley fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Riley lands a nice hook to Johnson's body. Johnson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley scores with a spinning back kick!
Riley throws a leg kick but Johnson checks it.
Riley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Riley counters with a body kick.
Riley checks a leg kick nicely.
Johnson takes a swing at Riley's ribcage but misses.

Johnson gets the takedown into side control.
Riley avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Johnson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson works to advance to full mount. Riley defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Johnson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Riley looks a forlorn figure.
Johnson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Riley is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson lands a nice shot to the head.
We've been hearing good reports from Johnson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Johnson landing strikes, looking to finish!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Johnson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Riley can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Riley is rocked!

Riley is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Riley goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Johnson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Luke Johnson!
Luke Johnson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Ronnie Riley was interviewed post fight and said 'Personally I blame my manager for sending me in there with such a ridiculous gameplan, it's about time I got someone else to manage me.'.
