Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jushin Kusanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Huriaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jushin Kusanagi looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jushin Kusanagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Huriaski!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kusanagi tries to keep at a distance but Huriaski has taken the fight into the clinch.

Huriaski shoots in and drives through. Kusanagi sprawls well.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Huriaski.

and Huriaski counters with a series of strikes. Kusanagi will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kusanagi stuffs the takedown attempt from Huriaski. Huriaski gets slowly back to his feet.

Kusanagi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Huriaski as he avoids it easily.
Kusanagi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Huriaski. That one must have hurt.

Huriaski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kusanagi, pushing him back against the cage.
Huriaski tries to stall but Kusanagi uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Lee Huriaski just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kusanagi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kusanagi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Huriaski to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jushin Kusanagi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kusanagi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
