Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brett Hart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Woodley! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hart tries to sprawl but Woodley drives through with a takedown into half guard. Woodley prevents Hart from standing back up.
Woodley uses his free foot to push down on Hart's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hart. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hart has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Woodley is looking to control Hart but Hart is wriggling around and keeping busy. Woodley is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hart knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hart for a finish. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hart preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Woodley. Woodley is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hart defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hart wants to get back to his feet. Woodley has good solid back control here. Woodley is looking for the choke from the back position but Hart is controlling his hands well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hart showing good submission defense here.
Hart defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Woodley's arms. Hart is trying to stand back up. Woodley punches the canvas rather than the man. Hart wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodley is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hart has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hart is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Woodley wants to control but Hart is keeping busy. Woodley is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Woodley thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Hart looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hart preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Woodley. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Will Woodley dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Woodley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hart! Woodley in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Will Woodley has got the better of the ground game so far. Hart tries to escape but Woodley is in control. Hart wants to get back to his feet but Woodley is dominant here and he's now got Hart's back! Woodley missing with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woodley is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hart trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Hart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Woodley on the ground. Woodley has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hart's body.
Woodley scores with punches to the body. Woodley lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Hart hold on?!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodley wants to control but Hart is keeping busy. Hart is trapped and Woodley is scoring with shots to the head and body. Hart is trying to stand back up. Hart defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Woodley's arms.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Woodley is looking to control Hart but Hart is wriggling around and keeping busy. Hart is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Woodley gets his way!

Will Woodley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Woodley ducks right into an uppercut from Hart. Hart tries to keep at a distance but Woodley has taken the fight into the clinch. Woodley goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hart prevents it.
Woodley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hart uses from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woodley looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Woodley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hart's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hart is looking to stand up but Woodley isn't so interested in that idea. Woodley pushing down on Hart's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Woodley wants to take a breather but Hart is having none of it. Woodley prevents Hart from standing back up.
Woodley sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hart defending well though. Woodley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Woodley trying to control from half guard but Hart is working away. Hart pushes Woodley off looking to stand but Woodley dives back in and keeps control.
Hart on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hart tries to get out of the position. Woodley stands up and beckons Hart to join him on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hart looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Woodley shoots and misses and Hart counters with a nice uppercut. Hart stalks Woodley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Woodley's face. Woodley staggers backwards, shaken. Woodley takes the fight into the clinch. Woodley avoiding damage.
Hart wants to break free but Woodley has control.
Woodley manages to break the clinch.
Woodley gets off balance looking for a body kick and Hart counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodley misses with a head kick.
Will Woodley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Woodley misses with a takedown and Woodley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Brett Hart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Woodley. Woodley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hart connects with a combination that backs up Woodley into the cage. Hart lands a flurry of punches that gets past Woodley's guard. Woodley is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Hart bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
