1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Riley Freeman! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freeman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cooper wants to work for an arm triangle but Freeman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freeman is not content to let Cooper control the position. Cooper missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cooper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cooper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cooper landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Freeman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Freeman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Freeman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cooper haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Cooper is putting a hurting on Freeman here, landing some big shots from side control. Freeman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Freeman is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Cooper is trying to maintain the position but Freeman is very close to passing his half guard.
