Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wes Nerk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lasnur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wes Nerk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Lasnur! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lasnur closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nerk circles away. Lasnur tries to sprawl but Nerk drives through with a takedown into half guard. Lasnur looks winded! Lasnur is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nerk controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lasnur avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nerk.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nerk controlling the action here. Lasnur wants to control but Nerk is keeping busy.
Nerk with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nerk fails to land the takedown. Lasnur displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nerk. Lasnur is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nerk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wes Nerk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nerk misses with a two punch combination.
Lasnur misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nerk is looking to clinch. Nerk wants to clinch. Nerk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lasnur darts in looking for a takedown but Nerk gets double underhooks and turns Lasnur into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nerk gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nerk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nerk has closed the distance and engaged Lasnur in a clinch.
Nerk gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lasnur has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nerk is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nerk tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lasnur. Lasnur trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nerk looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lasnur flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nerk gets the takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wes Nerk dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lasnur shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nerk is trying to defend but Lasnur finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nerk looking for submissions off his back. Nerk looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lasnur is just content to waste time from the top position. Nerk takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Nerk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nerk looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lasnur has picked Nerk up and slammed him! Nerk can't keep hold of the triangle and Lasnur manages to pass to side control! Nerk wants to control but Lasnur postures up. Wes Nerk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lasnur wants to stand but Nerk has his arm trapped. Lasnur in side control lands a decent elbow. Nerk could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nerk can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lasnur wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nerk keeps working. Lasnur is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nerk tries to clinch but Lasnur moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Lasnur as Nerk shoots in. Wes Nerk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lasnur avoids the head kick by Nerk.
Lasnur tries to counter by closing the distance. Lasnur throws a series of punches but Nerk avoids them all with ease. Lasnur tries for a takedown but Nerk sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lasnur wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. That kick from Lasnur tenderised Nerk's leg. Nerk is trying to keep his angry face on. Lasnur pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Lasnur looks to move away, Nerk throws a big counter combo bu Lasnur just gets out of the way. Nerk wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nerk. Nerk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lasnur keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lasnur is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Brock Lasnur will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Nerk fails in his attempt to clinch. Nerk dives in for a single leg takedown but Lasnur sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lasnur shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nerk as he jumps to the side. Nerk closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nerk working the ground and pound from side control. Nerk staying calm. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lasnur wants to control but Nerk postures up. Lasnur is looking to regain half guard here but Nerk keeps moving and retains side control. Lasnur is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Nerk content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lasnur is looking to control Nerk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lasnur avoid being mounted?
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nerk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lasnur can do to turn this around? Nerk is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nerk tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lasnur defends well and Nerk ends up having to push Lasnur into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Lasnur tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lasnur turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Nerk. Lasnur does a little dance to reset his feet. Nerk tries to clinch up. Nice takedown defense from Nerk. No joy for Lasnur on that attempt. Nerk has his takedown stuffed and Lasnur holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wes Nerk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nerk pulls Lasnur into guard.
Lasnur wants to control from the top but Nerk keeps moving. Nerk has control of Lasnur's left arm, preventing Lasnur from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nerk keeping moving, preventing Lasnur from controlling successfully. Lasnur slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lasnur throws an elbow but Nerk slips to the side and avoids it well. Nerk struggling a bit here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nerk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lasnur is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that's the end of the fight! Wes Nerk showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nerk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
