0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edward Thatch! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thatch closes the distance but KisyaPisya moves to the side and KisyaPisya counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by KisyaPisya. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. KisyaPisya trying to control but Thatch is working from the bottom. Thatch looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. KisyaPisya postures up and lands a big shot to Thatch's brow. KisyaPisya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Thatch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Thatch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with KisyaPisya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. It's a sloppy attempt though and KisyaPisya jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as KisyaPisya accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. KisyaPisya is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Thatch keeping moving, preventing KisyaPisya from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Thatch tries to clinch but KisyaPisya moves away and KisyaPisya counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Thatch connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed KisyaPisya momentarily.

KisyaPisya manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thatch on his heels. He'll look to pass Thatch's guard now, I'm sure. Thatch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. KisyaPisya loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. KisyaPisya trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. KisyaPisya keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Thatch's head. Thatch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Thatch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. KisyaPisya works a leg free and moves into half guard. KisyaPisya is trying to work for a kimura but Thatch is defending well.
Bubu KisyaPisya overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Well, if KisyaPisya is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

KisyaPisya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. KisyaPisya keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Thatch is not content to let KisyaPisya control the position. KisyaPisya wants to pass the guard but Thatch is defending well. KisyaPisya is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thatch is just riding it out for now. KisyaPisya eventually gives up the hold.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. KisyaPisya lands a big shot. Thatch keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Bubu KisyaPisya dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

KisyaPisya looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Thatch scores with a jab to the jaw. Thatch scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Thatch fails in his attempt to clinch. A combination from Thatch does no damage. It looked like KisyaPisya was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Thatch. Thatch looks to clinch and KisyaPisya counters with a shoot takedown. Thatch fights it but they end up in guard. KisyaPisya passes Thatch's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Thatch is trying to control but KisyaPisya passes into side control!
