Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Incheol Wonha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Dickens! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dickens, right into the meat.
Wonha tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dickens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wonha scores with a nice strike. Wonha misses with an uppercut
and Dickens counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Dickens throws a shot from downtown. Wonha moves away and avoids it. As Dickens tries to get set, Wonha tries to push him back and clinch up but Dickens manages to avoid the attempt. Dickens circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wonha chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dickens can pounce on him.
Wonha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dickens. Dickens throws a right hand that Wonha ducks under and follows up with a left that Wonha also avoids with ease. Richard Dickens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wonha swings for the body but Dickens moves out of range.
It seemed like Dickens was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Dickens misses with a hook. Dickens goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Wonha has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Stray Dogs in the buildup to the fight. Wonha closes the distance and clinches. This has been an exciting period of action! Dickens tries to circle away but Wonha has him pinned against the cage. Dickens avoids a wild elbow strike from Wonha. Dickens tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wonha's elbow. Dickens wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wonha has him pressed against the cage. Dickens has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wonha is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dickens is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wonha pulls him back up using the underhooks. Wonha using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dickens has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Wonha. Wonha creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dickens's defenses. Wonha is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dickens is defending well for now. Wonha lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Wonha misses with a knee to the head. Dickens avoiding damage as Wonha throws knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wonha throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Incheol Wonha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Dickens. Dickens misses with some punches.
Wonha lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Dickens tries to break free but Wonha pushes him back against the cage. Dickens wants to break free but Wonha has control.

Dickens is still on wobbly legs! Can Wonha finish him? Wonha slips a straight right by Dickens. Incheol Wonha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wonha rushes Dickens and presses him up against the cage. Dickens seems to have recovered his senses. Dickens wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Wonha has Dickens pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Dickens is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Wonha - that's hurt Dickens badly! Oh, another knee lands and Dickens is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Dickens doesn't seem to be complaining.
