Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Barney Judge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Lewis Dillinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Judge's entrance music is NewTV by FACES OF MARS. A fine choice. Marc Lewis Dillinger struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 147.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barney Judge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Lewis Dillinger! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillinger drives through with a takedown into guard. Judge working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dillinger. Judge on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Judge tries to get out of the position. Judge bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dillinger's guard.
Dillinger has his foot on Judge's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Judge works his way back into a safe position though. Judge has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Judge wants to stand but Dillinger has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dillinger wants to stand and escape but Judge is having none of it. Judge works a leg free and moves into half guard. Dillinger keeps control of the position for the meantime. Judge tries to stand but his arm is trapped. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dillinger is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Judge seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dillinger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Judge wants to control but Dillinger is keeping him busy. Judge tries to stand and escape but Dillinger is controlling the position. Judge is taking a breather. Dillinger says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dillinger trying to control but Judge postures up.
Dillinger is controlling Judge's position as best he can from this difficult position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dillinger wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. We've been informed that Dillinger has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Judge lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Marc Lewis Dillinger has been cut. Dillinger works the jab nicely. Judge moves into range and clinches up with Dillinger. Dillinger is trying to pull guard but Judge has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Judge lands on the inside with an uppercut. Dillinger is trying to drag Judge to the mat but Judge just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Judge lands a right hand. Judge gets through Dillinger's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Judge lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Dillinger is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Judge lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dillinger. Judge lands on the inside with an uppercut. Dillinger is still on wobbly legs! Can Judge finish him? Dillinger tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dillinger seems to have recovered his senses. Barney Judge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marc Lewis Dillinger. Dillinger fails to pull guard.
Judge drags the fight down to the ground.
Dillinger stays in close to Judge's body and controls the position. Judge wants to stand and escape but Dillinger is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Judge keeping moving, preventing Dillinger from controlling successfully. Judge wants to get back to his feet but Dillinger is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dillinger wants to control from the top but Judge keeps moving. Dillinger looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Judge utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Barney Judge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dillinger takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Judge throws a leg kick but Dillinger sees it coming and checks it nicely. Judge moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromDillinger. Dillinger throws a head kick but Judge moves out of range.
Judge drops Dillinger with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dillinger looks back up at him and smiles so Judge waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Judge on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Judge, right into the meat.
Dillinger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dillinger shoots in for a double leg but Judge sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Judge throwing a counter right hand but Dillinger manages to avoid it. Dillinger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dillinger looks winded! Dillinger tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barney Judge dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marc Lewis Dillinger's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dillinger takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Dillinger doesn't manage to clinch there - Judge circles away.
Judge lands a lovely overhand right. Dillinger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Judge is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Dillinger has a takedown stuffed. Dillinger swats away the attempt to clinch by Judge. Dillinger with a lazy takedown attempt and Judge counters with a left to the body. Judge lands a jab to the nose. Judge plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Dillinger swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Dillinger face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Barney Judge! Barney Judge was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
