The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Hector. No joy for McLendon on that attempt.

and Hector counters by clinching up.
Hector gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
McLendon has his foot on Hector's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hector works his way back into a safe position though.

McLendon wants to pass the guard but Hector is keeping the position.

Hector has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McLendon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McLendon wants to stand but Hector is controlling his posture from full guard.

McLendon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hector sprawls well. Hector wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McLendon gets slowly back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hector is working for a kimura but McLendon is defending it quite comfortably.
