Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Schlemper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schlemper comes to the cage accompanied by De Borest. Dias has chosen Linkin Park - In The End as his entrance music. Fabricio Schlemper has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Schlemper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Dias! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dias misses with a kick to the body.
Schlemper drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dias sprawls and moves away. Dias's jab looks to have found its range, popping Schlemper under the eye. Dias looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Fabricio Schlemper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schlemper fails with the takedown. Dias tries to clinch up but Schlemper circles away and keeps his distance. Schlemper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dias with the counter takedown but Schlemper avoids it easily. Dias displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Schlemper. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabricio Schlemper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schlemper closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dias's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schlemper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schlemper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Schlemper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dias swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schlemper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schlemper trying to control the position from guard on top but Dias is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dias really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schlemper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Schlemper engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Schlemper trying to control but Dias is working from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dias can't keep his opponent in guard - Schlemper advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schlemper stops Dias from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Schlemper drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schlemper thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Schlemper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dias knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dias is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Schlemper asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schlemper is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dias is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Schlemper is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Dias is trying to escape and Schlemper transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Dias is forced to tap! Nice work there by Schlemper! Very nice indeed!
