Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafinha Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Putin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Putin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafinha Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcelo Putin! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Putin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva cracks Putin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Silva throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Putin on the side of the head. Rafinha Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Putin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Putin in particular looking to stall. Putin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silva to get to his feet. Putin takes a body punch but keeps moving. Putin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva wants to get back to his feet but Putin passes into half guard.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Putin on the ground. Putin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Putin in particular looking to stall. Putin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Putin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Putin is figuring out what he wants to do next. It looks like Putin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Putin working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Putin slows the pace down in half guard. Putin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Silva defending well though. Putin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Silva defend it? Putin steps over the head and cranks it - Silva is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Putin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marcelo Putin! Marcelo Putin bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
