Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chip Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Method Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Ripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Method Man!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ripper looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Man wants to clinch.
Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Ripper tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ripper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Man shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ripper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Man is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ripper throws a push kick but Man slaps the foot to one side.
Man shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ripper defends it nicely.
Chip Ripper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Method Man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man feints a jab promting Ripper to slip. Man then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ripper slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ripper throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Man counters with a three punch combo that has Ripper backing up. Ripper nods at Man to acknowledge the strikes.
Man throws a head kick but Ripper moves out of range.
Man shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ripper defends it nicely.
Man uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Man fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ripper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Man tries to clinch but Ripper is having none of it.
Man changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ripper tries to avoid it but Man manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ripper to the ground. Ripper escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ripper went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Man looks for a takedown but Ripper sprawls well.
Ripper throws a big counter combination but Man scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Man tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ripper defends well and Man ends up having to push Ripper into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Man lands a lovely overhand right.

Ripper shoots in and bounces Man off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ripper has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Man is proving hard to escape from.
Man thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Man looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ripper stopping the sweep attempt from Man.
Man is looking to stand up but Ripper isn't so interested in that idea.
Ripper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Man escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ripper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ripper wants to pass the guard but Man is keeping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
No luck for Man with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Man has a takedown stuffed.
Ripper leaves Man with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Man showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ripper.
Ripper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Man fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Man has Ripper up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chip Ripper will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Man is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ripper pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Man tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ripper avoids it.
Man tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ripper smiles and moves away.

Ripper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Man is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Method Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Man dives in and grabs Ripper's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ripper pushes down on Man's head and hops out.

Ripper throws an elbow that misses. Man uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ripper's guard. Nice move by Man!

Man closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ripper circles away.

I would just about give that final round to Method Man.
I think Man has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
