Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dakota Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Maywho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dakota Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carl Maywho! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maywho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Brooks trying to control the position but Maywho is working away. Brooks is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maywho is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Brooks has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Brooks clinches. Maywho is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brooks is keeping busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Brooks tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maywho was well out of range. Poor timing from Brooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks closes the distance and clinches. Brooks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Maywho's efforts to push away. Brooks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brooks scores with a spinning back kick! Maywho takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Carl Maywho has been cut. Brooks dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Maywho looks winded! Maywho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brooks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maywho darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Maywho is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brooks sees it coming and defends easily. Brooks is trying to maintain the position but Maywho is very close to passing his half guard. Brooks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maywho on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maywho wants to pass to mount but Brooks is defending the position. Maywho is thwarting Brooks's attempts to control the position. Maywho stops Brooks from getting back to his feet.
Maywho is figuring out what he wants to do next. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brooks wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maywho pulls his head out easily.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Maywho closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brooks quickly recovers to half guard. Brooks wants to control but Maywho passes into side.
Maywho wants to control but Brooks is keeping him busy. Brooks tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Maywho presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Brooks wants to control but Maywho is having none of it. Maywho working Brooks over with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brooks tries to hold on but Maywho pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brooks is trying to reverse the position but instead Maywho has taken his back - oops! Brooks trying to control the hands but Maywho won't let him. Maywho is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Brooks won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Maywho off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carl Maywho!
