The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazzoni moves into range and clinches up with Hughes.
Hughes is looking for a takedown.
Hughes lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hughes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mazzoni can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mazzoni is trying to stand up here but Hughes is controlling him well.
Mazzoni really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hughes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hughes wants to work for an arm triangle but Mazzoni is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hughes stops Mazzoni from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mazzoni scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hughes manages to mount him!

Mazzoni is trying to stand but he's just given Hughes his back.
Mazzoni is trying to get back to his feet but Hughes has full control of the position and if anything, Mazzoni has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Mazzoni wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Hughes drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Mazzoni 's chin! Mazzoni is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!
