Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Neptune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Lanzoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Neptune has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fabio Lanzoni!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neptune connects with a leg kick. Lanzoni looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lanzoni has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Neptune lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lanzoni will feel that in the morning.
Neptune tries a head kick but it misses.
Lanzoni tests Neptune's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Chuck Neptune has been cut.
Lanzoni fails with the takedown.
Neptune lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Neptune scores with a decent looking hook.

Lanzoni shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Neptune sprawls well. Neptune wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lanzoni gets slowly back to his feet.
Chuck Neptune seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lanzoni has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Neptune.

Neptune feints and then cracks Lanzoni's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lanzoni down.

Lanzoni sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

That kick from Neptune tenderised Lanzoni's leg. Lanzoni is trying to keep his angry face on.

Good leg kick by Neptune there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been told by Neptune's head coaches at Evil Empire: †AWAKENING† that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Neptune feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neptune looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neptune throws a strike but Lanzoni rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neptune has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Lanzoni has gone for a leg lock! Neptune slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lanzoni's guard.


Neptune got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lanzoni has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Neptune has managed to get both his arms back between Lanzoni's legs - danger averted.

Neptune tries to pass to full mount but Lanzoni defends it.
Neptune knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lanzoni on the ground.
Lanzoni is pressing down on Neptune's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Lanzoni pushes a forearm under Neptune's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Neptune is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
