PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam comes to the cage accompanied by Grateful Deads- Truckin'. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adam misses the shot to the body.
Adam misses with a low kick as Machida jumps back.
Adam tries to clinch but Machida is having none of it.
Adam lands a body shot.
Adam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Adam throws a low kick, looking for Machida's leg but Machida calmly moves out of range.
Machida tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Machida takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Adam throws a good cross that connects.

Machida looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Machida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Adam's guard.

Adam wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Machida manages to get himself to full guard.

Machida has momentary wrist control but Adam slips an elbow through the middle.
Machida utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Adam advances to half guard.
Adam slips a nice elbow through Machida's hands, connecting with Machida's forehead.
Adam winds up and cracks Machida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Machida is looking to control Adam's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Machida avoid being mounted?

Adam thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Machida's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Adam walks forward, straight into a front kick from Machida.

Machida looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Adam is not content to let Machida control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Adam connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Machida tumbling to the canvas! Adam pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Machida was done - good stoppage!
