Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ron Gape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gape comes to the cage accompanied by Die mfer die. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ron Gape! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James May! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! May shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. May shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The fighters circling - Gape throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gape fails with a takedown attempt from distance. May tries for a takedown but Gape circles away easily and May takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ron Gape has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James May. May avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gape fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches May on the side of the head.
It looks like James May has been cut. May shoots and misses and Gape counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gape just misses with a punch to the body.
Gape swings for the body but May moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Gape. Ron Gape seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gape misses with a body shot.
Good exchange - Gape coming out on top. Gape throws a wild body kick that May sees coming a mile off. Gape misses with a looping right. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Gape looks to land a body kick but May moved away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gape tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but May swivels and escapes. May tries for a takedown but Gape circles away easily so Gape counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. May pulls Gape in to control the position. May trying to keep a closed guard but Gape is proving a slippery customer.
May looks gassed! Gape decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on May, up you get! Gape scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Gape throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A jab lands there for Gape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gape is looking to chop away at May's legs. A choreographed right hand from Gape misses the target. Gape feints and as May raises his hands in defense, Gape changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gape tries to stand but May is controlling from the bottom. Gape stands up and waves to May to follow him. May uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gape scores with a jab to the body. May misses with a takedown attempt so Gape counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gape is looking to stand up but May won't let him. May working for a triangle but Gape defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! May is trying to keep Gape in close.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gape trying to stand up but can't free himself from May's guard. May isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gape stacks May on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gape! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ron Gape dominated that round. The cut man is working on James May's cut. That's time! Gape's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gape misses with an attempted mid kick.
Gape lands a jab to May's midsection. A bone on bone clash there as Gape blocks the leg kick.
May shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gape decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in May's guard. Gape knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for May on the ground. Gape has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of May is proving hard to escape from. Gape trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's one minute gone in the round. May throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gape postures up.
Gape really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. May is breathing heavily. Gape wanted to stand there but May had control of the position. May isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gape stacks May on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. Gape steps back and let's May get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gape throws a body punch but May moves out of range. Gape misses with a low kick. Gape swings for the body but May moves out of range.
Gape takes a swing at May's ribcage but misses. May keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gape is looking to wear down May with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. May doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Gape counter with a right hand. May avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. May tries for a takedown but Gape circles away easily and Gape counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ron Gape has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James May. Gape throws an uppercut from half a mile away. May sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gape ducks down and throws a hook to the body but May moves away. Gape throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gape misses with a leg kick and May counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gape is trying to break free. May is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gape is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for May. May is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gape wants to get back to striking at distance but May won't allow it.
Gape goes for a takedown in the clinch but May prevents it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gape stops a takedown attempt from May.
Gape is trying to trip May. He has hold of a leg but May is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gape persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gape is looking to stand up but May won't let him. There's a bit of a scramble here and now May is on top in guard.
May won't allow Gape to get back to his feet. May thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. May trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. May is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gape keeping moving, preventing May from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ron Gape dominated that second round. The cut man is working on James May's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
May tries to clinch but Gape moves out of range. Gape is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. May with a poor takedown and Gape counters with a nice body shot. A left lands for Gape. It's a brutal combination of punches from Gape! May is backing up but he can't get away as Gape lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops May and ends the fight. Great knockout.
