Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Burns!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turbano tries to clinch but Burns moves out of range.

Burns closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turbano's guard.
Turbano has a closed guard, preventing Burns from standing up.

Burns decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Burns is trying to drag Turbano to the mat but Turbano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Turbano is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Burns to keep the fight standing.

Burns jumps guard but Turbano stands there with Burns around his waist. Burns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Turbano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Turbano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burns is defended easily by Turbano.
Burns shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Turbano pinned against the cage. Turbano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Turbano enables Burns to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Turbano manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Burns wants to get up but he can't break Turbano's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Burns's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns stands up and waves to Turbano to follow him.

Burns has Turbano pressed against the cage, preventing Turbano from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Burns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Turbano tries for a takedown but Burns manages to get underhooks.

Burns turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Burns is controlling the pace.
Turbano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Burns prevents Turbano from standing back up.

Burns tries to free his leg and advance position but Turbano is retaining full guard.
Burns slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Turbano throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Burns ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Burns no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Turbano avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burns pulls Turbano in close to his closed guard and prevents Turbano from doing any damage or advancing position.

Turbano wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.

Burns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Turbano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Turbano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Burns is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Turbano is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
