Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sean Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Run (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vince Run has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sean Doyle's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vince Run!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Run misses with a kick to the body
and Doyle counters with a right hand to the body.
Run looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Doyle is looking to clinch.
Doyle darts in trying to clinch

and Run counters with a shoot takedown. Doyle fights it but they end up in guard.

Doyle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Doyle throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Run with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Run trying to control the position from guard on top but Doyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Doyle definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Run pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Doyle is keeping the position for now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Run scoring with some ground and pound.
Doyle is trying to control the position but Run postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Run shoots for a takedown but Doyle saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Doyle fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vince Run seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Run tries to clinch up.
Doyle tries to counter by clinching up but Run breaks away and moves out of range.
Doyle shoots in for a takedown but Run shows good takedown defense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Run takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Run just misses with a punch to the body.
Run tries to clinch up.
Run throws a combination that misses
and Doyle counters with a three punch combo that has Run backing up. Run nods at Doyle to acknowledge the strikes.
Doyle lands with a good body shot.

Doyle gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Doyle has Run pushed against the cage.
Run is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Run.
Run's coach down at Foot Loves was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Run's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Run fails to pull guard.
Doyle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Run smiles and moves away.
Run stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Doyle.
Doyle throws a shot to the body.
Run tries to close the distance and clinch up but Doyle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Run misses with the combination.
Doyle appears to be looking for a big counter.
Run has a takedown stuffed.
Sean Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Run.
Doyle plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Run gets caught flat footed, as Doyle shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Doyle trying to control the position from guard on top but Run is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Run looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Doyle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Run has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Run there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Doyle moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Doyle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Doyle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Run circles away.
Run shoots in but Doyle avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Doyle shoots for a double leg takedown but Run sprawls well. He's pushed Doyle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Run misses with a takedown attempt - Doyle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Doyle fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Doyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Doyle shoots in and bounces Run off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doyle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Doyle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Run wants to stand up but Doyle is controlling him.

Run wants to control but Doyle is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Run is trying to control but Doyle passes into side control!

Doyle fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Run is not content to let Doyle control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Run takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Run fails with the takedown.
As Run looks to move away, Doyle throws a big counter combo bu Run just gets out of the way.
Doyle lands a really nice looking cross but Run seems unphased.

You can see the frustration on Run's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sean Doyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Doyle stands up and beckons Run to his feet.

Run is looking to regain half guard here but Doyle keeps moving and retains side control.
Doyle content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Run tries to bench press Doyle off him but Doyle keeps the position.
Doyle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Doyle connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Doyle shoots in looking for a takedown. Run tries to sprawl out of it but Doyle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Run manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Doyle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Run is fending him off so far but Doyle persists. Nope, Run circles away and we're back to standing.
Run shoots in and drives through. Doyle sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doyle looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Doyle swats away the attempt to clinch by Run.

Doyle clinches up with Run and pushes him back against the cage.

Doyle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are battling for position here. Run manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Run not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Doyle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Doyle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Run can do to turn this around?
Run wants to hit a switch here but Doyle passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Run there!

Well Doyle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
