Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Bauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Bauer!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bauer.
Charles is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bauer off and has taken his back!
Bauer trying to control the position but Charles manages to sink in the hooks.
Bauer avoids the strikes from Charles.
Charles controlling well, preventing Bauer from escaping the position.
Charles throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Charles not allowing Bauer to control his hands.
Charles has the hooks in. Bauer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
A lull in the action here.
Charles is not going to allow Bauer to sit and survive in this position.

Charles has Bauer flattened out and is raining down punches.
Charles doesn't have the hooks in and Bauer manages to turn into his guard.
Bauer wanted to stand there but Charles had control of the position.
Bauer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bauer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bauer won't allow Charles to get back to his feet.
Charles is trying to control the position but Bauer postures up.
Charles pulls Bauer in close to prevent any damage.
Charles keeping moving, preventing Bauer from controlling successfully.
Bauer wants to stand but Charles is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Charles wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bauer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Charles wants to control but Bauer postures up.
Bauer trying to control the action but Charles is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Charles tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Charles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bauer moves out of range of the strikes.

Bauer feints and as Charles raises his hands in defense, Bauer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Charles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bauer is one step ahead there.
Jack Bauer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bauer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bauer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Charles has a closed guard, preventing Bauer from standing up.
Bauer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bauer tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bauer wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bauer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bauer misses with the ground and pound.

Bauer tries to stand but Charles is controlling his head.
The strikes coming from Bauer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Charles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bauer on the ground.
Charles is not content to let Bauer control the position.
Charles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

An elbow from Bauer crashes against the mat.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bauer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bauer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bauer with the ground and pound but Charles regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Charles is staying active underneath Bauer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bauer trying to mount his opponent but Charles defends it.
Charles trying to control but Bauer postures up.
Bauer trying to control the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bauer missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Bauer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Charles is trying to control Bauer's posture but Bauer avoids it.

Bauer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bauer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charles keeps working.

Bauer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bauer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bauer is trying to control the action in half guard but Charles is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bauer is stalling here. Charles is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bauer seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Charles has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Charles grinds an elbow into Bauer's temple.

Bauer is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Bauer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bauer manages to get back to half guard.
Charles thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bauer's head.

Charles working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bauer's head.

Bauer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Charles is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bauer.
Bauer is looking to reverse the position.
Bauer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bauer is being controlled here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bauer has closed the distance and engaged Charles in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Bauer's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Bauer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Bauer throws a punch but it's blocked by Charles.

Bauer jumps guard.
Charles not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Charles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Bauer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bauer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
