Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Shimazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatoliy Lapikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lapikov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC - Hells Bells . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

29 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anatoliy Lapikov! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimazu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Shimazu lands a glancing blow to the side of Lapikov's head. Lapikov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Shimazu clinches. Shimazu misses with a short punch on the inside. Lapikov doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Shimazu tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Our sources have told us that Shimazu has been working on his elbows in the gym. Lapikov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shimazu is defending well for now. Shimazu misses with a knee to the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shimazu. Lapikov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lapikov shoots in and gets a takedown into Shimazu's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lapikov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. That's one minute gone in the round. Shimazu keeping moving, preventing Lapikov from controlling successfully. Lapikov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Lapikov advances position into side control! Shimazu is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lapikov asserts his dominance and retains side control. Lapikov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shimazu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shimazu is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lapikov is controlling him well. Lapikov lands a few punches from side control. Lapikov misses with the ground and pound. Lapikov working the body and head with strikes. Lapikov throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Shimazu is looking for a sweep. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lapikov working the body and head with strikes. Lapikov takes a little break here. Lapikov grinds an elbow into Shimazu's temple. Lapikov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lapikov working the head with strikes. Lapikov in side control lands a decent elbow. Shimazu takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Lapikov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shimazu. Lapikov misses with an uppercut. Shimazu throws a lazy right hand but Lapikov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lapikov throws a series of punches but Shimazu moves out of range. Shimazu clinches up with Lapikov and pushes him back against the cage. Shimazu misses with some punches.

Lapikov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A big right from Lapikov misses. Shimazu throws an overhand right that lands on Lapikov's shoulder, as Lapikov tries to avoid the shot. Lapikov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Lapikov scores with a three punch combo!
Shimazu has closed the distance and engaged Lapikov in a clinch.
Lapikov's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Shimazu lands with a right to the head. Shimazu gets through Lapikov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shimazu lands a good knee to the midsection. Lapikov won't want to take too many of those. Lapikov is breathing heavily. Shimazu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lapikov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Lapikov takes an elbow to the temple. Lapikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Shimazu finish him? Shimazu lands a big right hand that drops Lapikov! The killer instinct kicks in and Shimazu finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Shimazu!
