Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl Betricky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Woods told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carl Betricky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Woods! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woods jabs Betricky right on the nose. Betricky blinks but takes it well. Betricky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Woods with a hook. Woods lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Woods dips to his left and cracks Betricky with an uppercut! Woods bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Woods lands with a straight right. Betricky didn't see that one coming. Betricky ducks right into an uppercut from Woods. Betricky takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Betricky doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Betricky takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Betricky closes the distance and clinches. Betricky manages to pull guard.
Betricky is looking for a triangle but Woods pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Betricky is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods tries to strike from the bottom.
Betricky tries to free his leg and advance position but Woods is retaining full guard. Betricky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Woods really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Betricky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Betricky wants to pass the guard but Woods is keeping the position. Betricky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Betricky advances position into side control! You can see the frustration on Woods's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Betricky is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Woods has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods is looking to reverse the position. Betricky has hold of Woods's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Woods seems comfortable defending it but Betricky has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Woods is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Woods is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Betricky couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carl Betricky!
