Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Ted (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Costa! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Ted! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa shoots in for a takedown but Ted shows good takedown defense. Ted closes the distance and clinches. Ted pushes off an throws an elbow but Costa leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Costa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ted gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ted gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Diego Costa has been cut. Ted throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ted is pressed up against the cage. Costa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ted down to the mat. Ted avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Costa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ted quickly recovers to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Costa connects with a nice short shot to Ted's temple. Costa passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ted! Costa thowing shots but they're missing. Costa sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa looking to control and managing it successfully. Costa tries to control but Ted wriggling away. Costa is really struggling to control Ted but he's trying to hold on to the position. Costa in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Ted wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costa punching from mount but Ted doing a good job of avoiding damage. You get the feeling that Ted really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Costa tries to control but Ted wriggling away. Costa controlling from mount. Costa landing strikes from the mount and Ted is in trouble! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ted can do anything to dispel that myth. Costa lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ted wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Costa.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa lands a heavy elbow. Costa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Costa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Costa dominating with strikes here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Costa throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Costa controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Costa dominating with strikes here. Costa landing strikes from the mount and Ted is in trouble! Costa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ted is looking to escape. Ted's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Costa breaks from Ted's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ted is rocked! Costa looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Costa postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Ted badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Costa around the waist but Costa pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Costa is the winner by TKO! Costa jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Costa! Diego Costa is the new light heavyweight champion!
