Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antone Pennington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Spider Fire!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pennington has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fire is trying to force a seperation but Pennington has the dominant position.
Pennington is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fire is defending well.
Pennington is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fire to keep the fight standing.
Pennington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fire breaks from the clinch.
Pennington tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fire swats away the attempt to clinch by Pennington.

Fire manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pennington on his heels. He'll look to pass Pennington's guard now, I'm sure.
Pennington trying to keep a closed guard but Fire is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fire wants to stand but Pennington is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fire is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pennington has a closed guard, preventing Fire from standing up.
Fire engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Fire has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pennington is proving hard to escape from.
Fire chips away with some ground and pound.
Pennington knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fire on the ground.
Fire with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pennington trying to keep a closed guard but Fire is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fire tries to keep at a distance but Pennington has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pennington misses with a knee to the head.

Fire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fire throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pennington appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Fire thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pennington tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fire paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fire blocks a head kick by Pennington.
Fire feints the counter takedown.

Fire shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pennington napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fire has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fire controls the position.
Fire tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fire in side control, just content to control the action for now.
You can see the frustration on Pennington's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fire scoring with punches and elbows.
Pennington is looking for a sweep.

Fire is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Pennington is trying to escape and Fire transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Pennington is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fire! Very nice indeed!
