Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Phil Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ling Manchu! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Manchu throws a body kick that misses and Brooks counters with a nice double leg into guard. Manchu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Brooks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Manchu can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manchu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Manchu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Manchu. Manchu is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Manchu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Manchu lands a nice short elbow. Manchu wants to take a breather but Brooks is having none of it. Manchu slips a nice elbow through Brooks's hands, connecting with Brooks's forehead. Manchu throwing shots but Brooks is blocking nicely. Brooks is breathing heavily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Brooks taking some punishment here, with Manchu in his half guard. Manchu looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Manchu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Manchu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks has hold of Manchu's hands but Manchu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Manchu controlling the action here. Brooks taking some punishment here, with Manchu in his half guard. Manchu is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Manchu. Brooks keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Brooks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brooks wants it to stay on the feet. Manchu gets a clinch. Manchu has hold of one of Brooks's legs. Brooks is fighting the takedown attempt but Manchu gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Manchu wants to control from the top but Brooks keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brooks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ling Manchu dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Manchu tries to bum rush Brooks with a series of wild strikes but Brooks uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Manchu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brooks counters with a left to the body. Manchu gets a clinch. Manchu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brooks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Manchu misses with a head kick.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brooks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Brooks is looking to take a break and control but Manchu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks decides to stand back up. Brooks steps back and let's Manchu get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manchu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Manchu lands a few punches from side control. Manchu scoring with punches and elbows. Brooks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Manchu scoring with punches and elbows. Brooks being controlled for a moment. Manchu working the head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks wants to get back to his feet. Manchu tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brooks's legs. Brooks is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Manchu working the head and body with strikes. Manchu grinds an elbow into Brooks's temple. Manchu lands a nice forearm strike. Manchu working the head with strikes. Manchu cracks Brooks with a big elbow. Manchu working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manchu is staying tight to Brooks's torso, preventing him from escaping. Brooks struggling a bit here. Brooks is working to avoid the ground and pound but Manchu connects with a decent elbow. Manchu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Manchu lands some shots froms side control. Manchu working the ground and pound. Manchu is chipping away with strikes.
Brooks is looking to reverse the position. Manchu working the head and body with strikes. Manchu working the ground and pound from side control. Manchu advances to full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brooks working to try and regain half guard.
Manchu working for a submission but Brooks is keeping him at bay. Manchu lands with some strikes. Manchu raining down hammerfists from mount. Manchu has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Brooks's face.
Manchu controlling the position easily from mount. Brooks is in a horrible position here. Manchu smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Ling Manchu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Brooks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Manchu looks up at the clock and then as Brooks takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Manchu smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Manchu wants to control but Brooks is keeping him busy. Manchu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Manchu in side control, just content to control the action for now. Manchu in side control lands a decent elbow. Ling Manchu has got the better of the ground game so far. Manchu scoring with punches from side control. Manchu is chipping away with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manchu controlling the position. Brooks is looking to regain half guard here but Manchu keeps moving and retains side control. Brooks takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Manchu lands a decent elbow from side control. Manchu working the body and head with strikes. Manchu has knee on belly and moves into mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manchu controlling from mount. Manchu fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manchu lands a couple of good shots and Brooks has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Manchu is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Manchu lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Brooks.
Can Brooks hold on?! Manchu is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Manchu lands strikes to the head. A bit of a pause in the action here. Manchu controlling the positon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manchu scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Manchu is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Good control from Manchu. Manchu lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brooks trying to control the action but Manchu just sinks the hooks in. Manchu keeps control of the position as Brooks tries to break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Ling Manchu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Manchu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
