Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luciano Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iosa Jai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luciano Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iosa Jai!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jai gets a clinch.
Jai stalling the fight.
Garza is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Jai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jai closes the distance and pushes Garza back into the cage.

Jai pulls guard.

Jai is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jai seems keen to control Garza's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garza wants to stand but Jai is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jai controls Garza momentarily but Garza frees himself.
Garza in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jai shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garza napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Garza is trying to strike from the bottom but Jai has passed into full mount.
Jai controlling the position easily from mount.
Garza tries to reverse the position but Jai maintains control.
Garza suckers Jai into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Garza is now in Jai's guard!

Jai manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Jai lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Luciano Garza has been cut.

Jai manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jai lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Garza throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Jai controls from within his opponent's guard.
Garza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jai stands up and waves to Garza to follow him.

Jai darts in and clinches Garza up against the cage.
Garza is looking to break free of the clinch but Jai has double underhooks.
Garza is trying to force a seperation but Jai has the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jai successfully pulls guard.
Jai wants to sweep but no luck.
Jai keeps trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iosa Jai dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Luciano Garza's cut.
That's time! Garza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jai throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Garza's waist but Garza gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jai off to one side.
Garza seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Jai fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jai has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Luciano Garza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iosa Jai.
Jai throws a head kick but Garza moves out of range.
Garza wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Jai jumps guard and drags Garza to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Garza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jai is trying to control the position but Garza postures up.

Jai has his feet on Garza's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Garza shoots in and drives through. Jai sprawls well.

Jai dives in and grabs Garza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garza pushes down on Jai's head and hops out.

Jai throws a head kick that misses.
Jai is breathing heavily.

Garza seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Jai pushes Garza up against the cage in a clinch.
Jai tries to score a body lock takedown but Garza shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Jai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Garza as Jai shoots in.
Garza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jai sprawls well. Jai wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garza gets slowly back to his feet.
Garza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Garza counters with a one-two to the body.
Jai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Garza, pushing him back against the cage.
Garza fails to pull guard.
Garza wants to break free but Jai has control.

Jai jumps guard.
Jai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jai is controlling the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Garza avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jai.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iosa Jai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Jai moves into the clinch successfully.

Jai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jai.
Jai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Garza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jai somewhat.

Garza is trying to pull guard but Jai has him pressed against the cage.
Garza tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luciano Garza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garza wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jai has him pressed against the cage.

Garza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garza has managed to get both his arms back between Jai's legs - danger averted.
Jai is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Garza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jai wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Garza, who protects the arm well.
Garza tries to bench press Jai off him but Jai keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Jai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Iosa Jai has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jai moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Jai tries to score with some ground and pound. Garza controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nice takedown defense from Jai. No joy for Garza on that attempt.
Luciano Garza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Iosa Jai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jai shoots in but no luck this time.

Iosa Jai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jai winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
