The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldhest moves into the clinch successfully.
Alvarez tries to break free but Aldhest pushes him back against the cage.
Aldhest escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aldhest shoots in but Alvarez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Alvarez throws a combination that misses
and Aldhest counters by clinching up.
Aldhest breaks from the clinch.
Hakeen Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aldhest throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aldhest off to one side.
Alvarez wants to counter with a clinch but Aldhest pushes him away.
Aldhest shoots in looking for a takedown. Alvarez tries to sprawl out of it but Aldhest keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alvarez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alvarez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Alvarez's corner calls for a 1-2. Alvarez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Alvarez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alvarez wants it to stay on the feet.
Alvarez lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Aldhest can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Alvarez and Aldhest drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Alvarez.
