Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Federico Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Spezza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manta comes to the cage accompanied by Ultima Corsa by Mondo Marcio. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Federico Manta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Spezza! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Manta. Spezza turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Manta shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Manta ducks under a wild hook from Spezza. A clash of legs there as Spezza blocks the low kick. Manta lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Manta lands a jab to Spezza's midsection. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Spezza, as that shot connected.
A swing and a miss from Spezza. Spezza jabbing away but nothing is landing. Manta connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Spezza - that will leave a mark!
A chopping leg kick lands by Manta. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spezza catches Manta with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A decent looking body kick lands there for Manta. Spezza connects with a single shot there.
It looks like Federico Manta has been cut. Manta scores with a push kick. Manta throws a head kick but Spezza moves out of range.
Spezza fails to land with a series of punches.
An attempted straight right counter from Manta misses the target. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spezza has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spezza throws an overhand right that lands on Manta's shoulder, as Manta tries to avoid the shot. Federico Manta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Manta with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Manta lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Spezza lands a nice looking body shot.
Spezza lands with a slapping head kick. Spezza scores with a hook. Manta with a jab. Manta ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spezza moves away. Manta feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Spezza's calf. Spezza takes a swing at Manta's ribcage but misses. Manta swings and misses with a shot to the body and Spezza cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Manta checks a low kick from Spezza. Spezza uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Manta. Spezza misses the jab. Spezza throws a big shot that misses. Manta digs a good hook to Spezza's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Spezza with that takedown attempt. Spezza fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Manta uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Spezza has time to react. Manta connects with a solid leg kick. Manta thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Spezza if he has to take too many more of those.
Manta tries to land a leg kick but Spezza saw it coming and moves away.
Spezza looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Manta throws a hook to the side of Spezza's head but Spezza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Manta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A telegraphed right hand from Manta misses the target. Spezza looks like he wants to counter punch here. Spezza on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Manta pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Manta dodges the punch combination from Spezza.
As Spezza looks to move away, Manta throws a big counter combo bu Spezza just gets out of the way. Manta connects with a jab. Federico Manta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manta turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Spezza takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Spezza throws a hook but Manta blocks it. Spezza chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Manta can pounce on him.
Manta avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Manta scores with a jab. Manta misses with a looping left. Manta throws a hook to the side of Spezza's head but Spezza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Manta attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Spezza ducks under a wild hook from Manta. As Manta backs off Spezza throws a huge counter combo but Manta manages to avoid it all. Manta throws a head kick that misses. Manta gets off balance looking for a body kick and Spezza counters with a straight right hand. Spezza uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Manta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spezza paws at him with a jab and circles away. Spezza misses with a low kick.
Manta looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Spezza's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping body kick lands there for Manta. This has been an exciting period of action! Manta takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Manta lands a glancing blow to the side of Spezza's head. Manta tries to score with a low kick but Spezza moves his leg out of the way. Spezza thinks about the counter body kick. Spezza blocks the body kick.
Manta throws a leg kick that misses. Spezza blocks a leg kick. Spezza swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Spezza misses the shot to the body. Spezza keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Spezza uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Manta has time to react.
Manta is rocked! Spezza takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Spezza is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Manta had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. A left lands for Spezza. Oh Manta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spezza lunges at Manta with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Manta's hand. Manta lands a leg kick that knocks Spezza off balance momentarily. Spezza lands with an overhand left. Spezza cracks Manta with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Manta tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Spezza pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Manta is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Spezza! Jason Spezza gave a mention to Vandal Fight Boutique & Laundry (93%) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
