Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Comanche Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durden comes to the cage accompanied by Monster. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edward Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Comanche Todd!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durden takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Durden looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Todd loads up on a big right hand but Durden slips the punch.
Todd catches Durden with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Todd misses with a body shot.
Durden fails with a takedown attempt.
Durden avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Todd scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Durden takes one on the button.
Durden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Todd swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Todd scores with a jab to the head.

Todd feints a jab promting Durden to slip. Todd then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Durden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Durden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Todd.
Durden wants to clinch.
Todd scores with a jab to the jaw.
Todd connects with a crisp jab.
Todd stuns Durden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Todd changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Durden dives in for a single leg takedown but Todd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Durden. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Durden takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Durden slips a straight right by Todd.
Durden drops down looking for a counter takedown but Todd sprawls and moves away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Todd darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Todd throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Durden attempts a counter takedown but Todd avoids it well and moves away.
Todd stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Comanche Todd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Durden.
Danga de danga de dang - Todd scores with a four punch combination!
Todd swings for the body but Durden moves out of range.
Comanche Todd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Todd lands a left and a right that send Durden crashing to the mat, dazed. Todd thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Durden is rocked!
Todd swinging wildly here.
Durden attempts a counter takedown but Todd avoids it well and moves away.
Oh Durden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Todd misses the shot to the body.
Durden seems to have got his legs back now.
Todd throws a combination that misses

and Durden counters with a shoot takedown. Todd fights it but they end up in guard.
Durden wants to control from the top but Todd keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Durden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Durden trying to control but Todd is working from the bottom.
Durden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Todd can't keep his opponent in guard - Durden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Durden is trying to work for a kimura but Todd is defending well.

Durden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Todd is holding on to half guard well.
Durden tries to pass the half guard into mount. Todd knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Comanche Todd dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Todd throws a series of punches but Durden moves out of range.
Todd misses with a series of wild punches.
A cross from Todd lands.
Todd scores with a hook.
Todd throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Durden counters with a takedown into side control.
Todd tries to bench press Durden off him but Durden keeps the position.
Durden is looking to take a break and control but Todd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durden working the ground and pound but Todd is defending the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Durden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Todd, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Durden goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Todd rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Durden's guard! Nice work there by Todd!
Todd has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Durden looking for a guillotine here but Todd defends easily.

Durden throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Todd escapes and throws Durden's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durden is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Durden is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Todd is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Durden wants to hold on but Todd pushes him away.
Durden is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durden tries to lock up and control but Todd gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Durden regains half guard.
Durden throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Todd decides to stand and escape the position.
Todd cracks Durden with a right hand to the side of the head.
Todd moves into range and connects with a jab.
Todd throws a hook to the side of Durden's head but Durden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Todd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Durden walks into a jab.
Comanche Todd seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Todd thuds his right hand into Durden's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Durden walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Todd drops Durden with a beautiful combination! Durden stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Todd is looking for the KO!


Durden is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Oh Durden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Durden on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Durden throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Todd's waist but Todd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Durden off to one side.
Durden seems to have got his legs back now.
Durden fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Todd comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Todd shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Durden eats them both and turns towards Todd to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Comanche Todd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Durden's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Durden takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Some wild striking there from Todd.
Durden ducks under a wild hook from Todd.
Todd scores with a body shot.

Durden shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Todd won't allow Durden to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Todd wants to control but Durden is keeping busy.
Durden is trying to control the action in half guard but Todd is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Durden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Todd is staying active underneath Durden, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Durden winds up and cracks Todd with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Durden missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Todd is trying to maintain the position but Durden is very close to passing his half guard.

Durden trying to work for an americana but Todd has managed to regain full guard.
Durden trying to control but Todd is working from the bottom.
Todd keeping full guard, as Durden tries to pass.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Todd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Durden doesn't seem bothered though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durden uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Todd.
Edward Durden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Todd misses with a jab, cross combination.
As Todd tries to get set, Durden tries to push him back and clinch up but Todd manages to avoid the attempt.
Todd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Durden circles away quickly and effectively.
Todd swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Durden.
Todd lands with a right hand.
Todd throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Todd is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Durden.
Comanche Todd is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Todd swinging wildly here.
Todd scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Todd. Those never looked like landing.
Todd scores with a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Todd throws a hook but Durden blocks it.
Todd swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Todd has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Durden is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Durden shoots in looking for a takedown but Todd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Durden's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Todd just misses with a punch to the body.
Durden feinted with a counter takedown.
Todd misses with a wild combination.
Durden attempts a counter takedown but Todd avoids it well and moves away.
Durden tries to close the distance and clinch but Todd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Despite the aggression on Todd's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A telegraphed right hand from Todd misses the target.
Todd lands a slapping body shot.
Edward Durden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Todd scores with the left hand. Durden knows he should have avoided that one.

And that's the end of the fight!
Comanche Todd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Todd winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
