1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Banchamek blocks the low kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kennedy. Kennedy clinches. Kennedy trying to land knees to the body.
Banchamek working some nice short punches in the clinch. Banchamek managing to block the knees to the body from Kennedy.
Kennedy throws a knee to the head but misses.
I was talking to Banchamek's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kennedy tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Kennedy's coach down at Beat Down Under was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kennedy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Kennedy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Banchamek.

It looks like Rune Banchamek has been cut. Banchamek lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Banchamek scores with a shoulder strike. Banchamek goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Kennedy pushes Banchamek up against the cage in a clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Banchamek lands a hook that snaps the head of Kennedy backwards. Kennedy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Banchamek is defending well for now. Kennedy misses the knee to the body. Banchamek pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kennedy slips a straight right by Banchamek. Banchamek scores with a jab to the head.
Kennedy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Banchamek appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Kennedy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Banchamek.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banchamek moves into range and connects with a jab. Kennedy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Banchamek swats him away and circles back towards the center. Banchamek is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Kennedy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kennedy is rocked! Banchamek digs a good body shot into Kennedy's ribs. Kennedy is still on wobbly legs! Can Banchamek finish him? Kennedy looks winded! Banchamek lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Kennedy - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Banchamek!
